What's new

  • Added customizable gauges. You can now add, move and delete gauges.
  • Added a lot more gauges, temperature is now supported.
  • Added ability to save and reuse custom gauges.
  • Added ability to easily import tracks from attached Garmin mass storage devices.
  • Widened range for clip playback speed (from 0.125x to 8x, up from 0.25x to 2x).
  • Fixed some errant behavior for g-force gauges.
  • Fixed export for pace gauges.
  • Fixed some more export issues.
  • Fixed an issue where file or track import was not working.
  • Fixed an issue where settings changes where not remembered after upgrading VIRB Edit.

Known Issues

  • A few strings have not been localized into non-English languages. They will be in 2.4.
  • Exporting a video when the NONE template is selected does not work. Will be fixed in a 2.3.x maintenance release very soon.
  • There are still some export issues. We are planning to address more of them in 2.3.x as well.
  • Export quality is still not as good as we'd like. 2.3.x should improve things here as well.

Please send us feedback

Please let us know if you encounter any issues. If there are any crashes, please send in the error reports, this really helps us out and we'll make sure to fix them.

Just another post to say 2.3.1 fails to export with an error dialog. The output file is around 600MB at this point, and is unplayable.
    Windows 7 Pro 64bit SP1, 16GB of ram.

Subsequently, if I try to play a video, the application crashes with these details:

I'm reluctant to go back to a previous version, if only that the G-force indicator finally looks sensible with the latest version!
Any way to test to the latest version?
  • Like others I've had this Export issue ever since I first got my Virb Elite. I've fed back to Garmin and continue to do so. What I've noticed is that I can export ok regardless of the length of the video if my Overlays are set to "None". Then whether I've used a standard template or mix and match Standard with Custom, it seems to fail all the time. I'm not sure if its the software or something on my PC, but has anyone else tried/or noticed this behavior? I'm trying narrow the issue down, I've closed everything running in the background, but whatever I do seems to make no difference. The PC is powerful enough, and I regularly use Adobe Premiere Pro/Photoshop to process Video/Photos without issue.

Best I can tell for me personally, its only when Overlays are attached that it fails to export and crashes, and that is the USP of the Virb Edit software of course.

    Dex.
