What's new

  • Added customizable gauges. You can now add, move and delete gauges.
  • Added a lot more gauges, temperature is now supported.
  • Added ability to save and reuse custom gauges.
  • Added ability to easily import tracks from attached Garmin mass storage devices.
  • Widened range for clip playback speed (from 0.125x to 8x, up from 0.25x to 2x).
  • Fixed some errant behavior for g-force gauges.
  • Fixed export for pace gauges.
  • Fixed some more export issues.
  • Fixed an issue where file or track import was not working.
  • Fixed an issue where settings changes where not remembered after upgrading VIRB Edit.

Known Issues

  • A few strings have not been localized into non-English languages. They will be in 2.4.
  • Exporting a video when the NONE template is selected does not work. Will be fixed in a 2.3.x maintenance release very soon.
  • There are still some export issues. We are planning to address more of them in 2.3.x as well.
  • Export quality is still not as good as we'd like. 2.3.x should improve things here as well.

Please send us feedback

Please let us know if you encounter any issues. If there are any crashes, please send in the error reports, this really helps us out and we'll make sure to fix them.

Gauges for location, temperature, date/time and even a logo (if you like). Free placement and free choice of what you'd like to include.

Easier import of tracks directly from the device.
  • I am having problems adding individual Gauges into the Video. I add for example a track Gauge, then go down to the Gauges list and try to add a second elevation Gauge, the previous Gauge disappears from the Video. Is there a specific way I have to add additional Gauges. Also, when I use an existing template, I am able to move one of the included Gauges, but as soon as I click on a second Gauge to move it, All Gauges disappear.
I am using Windows 7 64 bit, Any idea what may be causing this behavior?

    That does not sound familiar.

Were the templates working for you in 2.2.5?

If you export one of your videos where the gauges disappeared, do you see the gauges in the resulting video?

Gauges can not be selected when overlay "NONE" or "Classic" is selected.
You need to start with one of the overlays that contain a gauge to be able to modify and make your own custom template.
  • I AM SO EXCITED!!! Thank you FALAGAR and everyone else on you team!
  • I have updated VirbEdit from Version 2.0 , 2.1.1, 2.2.3, 2.2.5, and now 2.3.1, I had only added a Video and a GPX file coming from a Garmin Oregon 450. I adjusted the gpx track to the video and watched the preview I was waiting for the editable Gauges, but until now it is the fist time I try to export, and I get "There was an error exporting the video". I tried selecting a base overlay other that None or Classic, but the same problems holds, I am able to add a Gauge or move one of the Gauges, but as soon as I click on a second one or click any place on the video area , all the gauges disappear. I got an old HP workstation with an Nvidia geforce 8400 gs video Card

I updated my VIRB Edit to 2.3.1 and now it crashes rendering any video more than a few minutes in length. Is there anyway to roll back to the older version, which while sketchy at least worked?

And just in case you are wondering this was a video using the in-the-box templates and has been successfully rendered in the old version.
  • Virb edit 2.3.1 cant upload any video for me, rendering freezes

Upload always fails when export fails.
Please try exporting and report if that works.

Check your forum messages, I sent you a link to the 2.2.5 installer. We will have a 2.3.x release out fairly soon as well.
