What's new

  • Added customizable gauges. You can now add, move and delete gauges.
  • Added a lot more gauges, temperature is now supported.
  • Added ability to save and reuse custom gauges.
  • Added ability to easily import tracks from attached Garmin mass storage devices.
  • Widened range for clip playback speed (from 0.125x to 8x, up from 0.25x to 2x).
  • Fixed some errant behavior for g-force gauges.
  • Fixed export for pace gauges.
  • Fixed some more export issues.
  • Fixed an issue where file or track import was not working.
  • Fixed an issue where settings changes where not remembered after upgrading VIRB Edit.

Known Issues

  • A few strings have not been localized into non-English languages. They will be in 2.4.
  • Exporting a video when the NONE template is selected does not work. Will be fixed in a 2.3.x maintenance release very soon.
  • There are still some export issues. We are planning to address more of them in 2.3.x as well.
  • Export quality is still not as good as we'd like. 2.3.x should improve things here as well.

Please send us feedback

Please let us know if you encounter any issues. If there are any crashes, please send in the error reports, this really helps us out and we'll make sure to fix them.

    Audio for NON-VIRB-clips:
    Tested with a clip converted with Any Video Converter.
    Now audio is exported for clips with and without overlay, OK.

    Exporting a clip made with Power Director Pro, with or without GPS and with or without overlay results in an error.
    Also movies from clips made with Power Director Pro and earlier exported with 2.2.3 with no problems now results in errors.

    You win some, you lose some;)

    Change library location:
    Move clips to .... OK / Cancel ???

    I was thinking is this the cancellation (Annuleren) of the library change or is the movement of the files cancelled.
    I think it's better to change it in Yes/No (or in dutch Ja/Nee) in that case it's more clear that it's only about moving the clips.

    Good point. We can change this in 2.4.

    Setting the language in the config to EN makes VE crash.
    I've tried the configs in:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\VIRB Edit
    C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\Garmin\Virbedit.exe_Url_2s3fjjuud4rrrdew1yzrteglisz5pdsn\2.3.1.0

    Does setting it to 'en' work?

    "Don't show me this message again"
    In Dutch this should be:
    "Laat me dit bericht niet meer zien."

    (in this case OK and Annuleer are appropriate)

    EDIT: Also when removing a custom template "Don't show me this message again" is shown.

    I believe we have this fixed internally already. Will be in 2.4. I'll double-check.

    Custom Templates:
    track-symbol is not shown when saving new template, it is also not shown in the thumbnail (probably the same thing).
    the comb structure of the "LRG_Tape_...veg" gauges are not shown
    in the round compas the N is not shown
    in the "target the G is not shown
    all the gauges are shown as solid

    Are you just talking about the thumbnails that get created for custom templates, or is there a different issue?

    At this point, we are solely concerned with exporting and playing VIRB videos. Everything else is bonus.

    Does setting it to 'en' work?

    <userSettings>
    <Virb.Properties.Settings>
    <setting name="UserLanguage" serializeAs="String"><value>en</value></setting>
    <value />

    </setting>

    Only changed the "<setting name" line, I should have looked more closer .

    Only the newly created thumnails for the newly created custum templates.
    Older template thumbs are OK.

    What kind of crashes? What were you doing? Do you get an error dialog with the option to send the error to Garmin? If so, please do send it.

    OK 12 crashes total, I-7, Nvidia G force 745M, windows 8.1 Firmware 3.10. Will not render with custom Gauges, No options to send to you. Crash and then it closes. Deleted the Program, Re downloaded. Now it will render, and change the colors. But still giving a Standard Speed Elevation, and track. Crashes on anything else I try. Wish I could see the crash log. Will continue to do tests. Question. is there a specific template I need to use for custom Gauges? or an order I need to do this in? ie Template, gauges, appearance? I am still not sure if it is me doing something wrong, or if it is the software. Video was 4:53 long, set the Gauges, and appearance, saved that template, then edited the video to 1:29 trimmed left and right.
