No Video

The video file plays with Windows Media Player but I only get the audio with Virb Edit. Black screen. I'm sure it's user error.

Any suggestions or help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike

VIRB Edit still has problems with some video cards.
It's not clear what your problem is (i'm not native english).
I think you've succeeded in exporting a video but you don't have the audio.
When you export a clip, the audio of that clip is not exported (they are still working on that).
You can add music to your video.
When you take the audio from your video and add it as music it will be exported.
    About the black screen...
Maybe it's codec related and WMP can't handle that codec.
You can try VLC (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/) or Media Player Classic (http://mpc-hc.org/).
Also you can try uploading it to YouTube.
YouTube will change the codec and you might be able to watch your uploaded video.

Just a minor nit-pick: we export audio just fine as long as it comes from an original VIRB video (which is what VIRB Edit is made for).

Thanks, good to know that audio from a VIRB works.
That's the main issue, getting it/all to work for the VIRB (Elite).
When I want audio from another source I can add it as music.
Alternative I can take the VIRB-Edit video (with overlay) and edit it in PDP.

Same here. VIRB Elite, latest build of Virb Edit. MP4 from camera plays just fine using WMP, Virb edit imports the file and plays with audio only black screen.

Would like to use the overlay features as that is why I purchased the camera.

Can you tell me which kind of computer (desktop/laptop), which operating system (Windows 7, 8, 8.1) and what graphics card you use?

    New Windows 7 Pro
HP Enterprise desktop "HP Compaq Elite 8300 SFF"
Integrated (Intel HD Graphics) Sorry that's all Windows will give me.
    Running Intel driver 8.15.10.2696 difx64.dll

WMP plays the files fine and the preview still of the video in VIRB is also good, just plays black in VIRB edit.

What happens when you export the video?
Maybe it's only VIRB that can't display it and the video is exported correct.

If you add the videos to the timeline and run the export with a template the output file is good ;)

Its is only playback of the video in VIRB EDIT that is at fault. A bit of a pain in the A-- because it makes it hard to edit the clips and see what you are going to get. But better than not working at all. Looking forward to having all these features working with playback.

I have the D2 Aviation watch and love the integration with the VIRB I can start and stop recording, take still pictures directly from my watch, really nice. This makes life sooooo much better than using a GOPRO... especially when you need to be concentrating on flying aircraft.

    Nice work Garmin.

The output is OK :) that means the developers can attack the problem more directly.
What is your screen resolution and what happens when you change it?
