You can download it at www.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=6591.

This release should fix the export issues on Windows 8.1.

It should also fix some start-up crashes that were caused by incorrect track calculations.

One thing that is not yet fixed is the start-up issue on computers with on-board Intel graphics chipsets (Intel GMA 3x00). We can reproduce that issue but won't be able to get a fix for this out till January.

Please report back if you still cannot export or if you get any kinds of crashes.

Did you try setting the video to 1080p on youtube?
Before (=360p):

After (=1080p):

These screenshots were taken without enlarging the video-window of youtube.

I could read the advertisement along the road, kunstgrascenter.be and the roadsign Rump(Reet) Schelle, so that should be OK (I think)

Found an issue: trimming the first part of the video also trims the track even before opening it.
http://youtu.be/2QkQG4eVKKE
I've removed the VIRB Edit database (windows explorer) to start with a clean program.
I start VIRB Edit and load the clip.
I make a movie of my clip.
My clip starts too early so I trim the left bit.
Than I want to attach a track to my clip.
At first you can see the track starts before the railway.
After importing, it starts after the railway.
When I want to adjust the track it already starts before the railway, but the black part (probably the video part) starts after the railway.
The track on the exported track also starts after the railway just like when the movie is played within VIRB Edit.
For now the solution is trimming the video before importing in VIRB Edit.

We'll take a look at this. Thanks for reporting.

I installed Virbedit today as I got a new Virb for a Christmas gift. I am using Windows 7. When I downloaded Virbedit it updated me to the current Microsoft .NET of 4.5.1. I restarted the computer (repeatedly) and when I click on Virbedit to start, I end up getting a blue screen box of error reported and says it is contacting Garmin. The blue box contains a series of lines of different computer information and at the bottom says attached is a mini dump (I assume of the computer error information). It then asks me for my email address and a brief description of the problem. I only have one computer in the house with Windows 7 as the other is XP. Can you please let me know what I can do to fix this problem? I have uninstalled Virbedit 3 times and re-installed and it keeps doing the same thing when I try to launch Virbedit.

Thanks
Len

Len, I apologize for the trouble.

Did you go ahead and send the error report? Or can you copy/paste the "series of lines of different computer information" here? Then I might be able to tell you what's going on and we will make sure to fix the issue in the next version.

Yes,
but if you look fullscreen at the overlay you can see it's not as crisp as in the Original Virb Edit export. I'm now running the exported file through windows movie maker, limiting bitrate at 8000, and I'll try to upload again, seeing if YouTube leaves it alone or not.

I'd be interested as well if it's VIRB Edit at export or YouTube at upload that scrambles up the video.

Please let us know what you find.

I like the experiment, let's see what YouTube makes of this:

Format_____________________ YouTube Link______________ Size before uploading
1920x1080 30fps.mp4________ http://youtu.be/nHv6noK5zMY _30.996kB
1920x1080 23fps.m2ts_______ http://youtu.be/Gbxt06C1jmY 118.145kB
1920x1080 25fps.mov________ http://youtu.be/kKuk7qJUo0g 113.433kB
1920x1080 30fps H264 AC3.mkv http://youtu.be/SmW1th6boqg 114.463kB
1920x1080 25fps.wmv________ http://youtu.be/jfn2dietj_o _52.811kB

It's the same clip, the .mp4 is the original from where the others were made using PDP 11.0
The video the .mp4 was made of was only 1080x720 so use the overlay to compare the quality.
In case you may notice, the track and the video don't match.
The track is there so I can have an overlay.

(have to find out how to make multiple spaces on this BBS I've tried the regular php-codes
_for now they are white underscore's)

EDIT: I can play the video's at fullscreen (1920x1080) but youtube only wants to play at 720p.
I can see the overlay of all the video's have deriated, the edges are a bit blurred.
To me the quatity looks all the same, but it's not the 1920x1080 I've uploaded.

Just reviewed my video's from post #33 in 1080p.
Looking at the speedo, in all video's when slowing down the orange bar leaves a pixel trail.
My original .MP4 does not have this trail.
So my verdict would be that YouTube makes videos deteriate, but only if you are looking for it.
I noticed on some video's I can delect 3D on/off on others I only can set the resolution.
Probably they are working on the GUI.
