  • You're right - it is 2.2.3. Wonder where I got 2.2.4? Whoops.

Didn't post it yesterday, as I was waiting the 2.2.3 version. I can post this today, since I didn't find any difference between the two versions: Virb Edit doesn't work. I spent time in editing and I can't export my job. After shooting and trimming and adding GPS data, I've got 2 clips to export, one starts the export process, then give back an error and stops; the other one doesn't either start.

My PC runs W7 64 bit and it has an 8GB ram. Core i5 processor, if that helps.

    Any idea?

    Giovanni

Which graphics card do you have?

    no problem installing 233. (i7 870, Win7 Pro x64, 16GB RAM, plenty HDD, NVIDIA Quatro 2000)

Found some minor points that already existed in previous versions.
You can rename, edit and delete a movie, you can't make a copy. (would be quite handy making different versions)
The displayed track has an odd thing. In 223 the tracks are displayed with their corresponding clips Hurray.
The thing is the end of one clip is connected to the next one.
I was thinking I don't have a video of that part, than realised VE just had drawn a straight line from the end of one track to the beginning of the next one.
Don't know what the right solution would be.
    0- do nothing about it.
1- leaving the connecting lines out.
2- making it a thin or dashed line, just to indicate the sequence of the tracks.
3- only showing the clip-track, not the total.
Where the result of 0,1 and 2 would be a lot of criss-cross lines when doing several trips from one startingpoint or points that are close to eachother.
With 3 you don't have the overview of the covered area.

I see the captha is gone :D

re-Exporting a 50min video at the moment with a new overlay, done 48%.

EDIT 100% done, no problems (will check audio later)
    Installed 223 on my laptop HP635 , AMD E-450 1.65GHz Radeon Graphics, 4GB RAM, Win7 Pro x64
    no problems installing.

Another minor thing... when I started 2.0 , there was a message that 2.1 was downloaded and available for installation.
Maybe you should recon with people skipping versions and have them download and install the latest version instead of a an older already downloaded one.

Another thing 2: My settings "Metric" and "Google" were reset to "Statute" and "Bing".

Another thing 3: in editing, Dutch language: "Snijd links weg" , "Snijd rechts bij" they should both read "Snij .... weg".
Something "bij snijden" is like adding something by cutting... "weg" is more accurate as you're cutting something away (never to be seen again).

Another thing 4: instead of trimming the clips, you could place markers (cut in/cut out), and leave the clip as it is, good for re-use in another movie.

Another thing 5: no clip-audio in the movie but I assume the guys are still working on that.
Adding music to the video works ok.

    In Win7 x64 the overlays are in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\VIRB Edit\Templates".
    Maybe also on Win8?
There you should find _Default, Auto_, Aviation_ and Cycling_ files (all .vet files)
In thumbnails you should find pictures of the overlays.
If you don't have them, than you're missing the overlays.
If they aren't missing something else is wrong (in the program).

    1. I'll create a feature request to duplicate a movie. This probably won't happen for a while though.

    2. We have some work scheduled for 2.4 where we will revisit the way we create the total track. Not entirely sure which option we will pick yet.

    3. I don't think we bug the user every time, I believe it's like once a day or less. So we won't make any changes here. We want people to use the newest version after all.

    4. The settings are stored per location. So if you are launching VIRBEdit.exe from different locations, you will get different settings. If you upgrade from 2.2.2 to 2.2.3 the settings should not change.

    5. We'll make these changes for 2.3. Thanks for letting us know. If you find any other localization oddities just let me know and I can easily fix it.

    6. Trimming a clip only trims does not actually change the clip. You can re-use the clip elsewhere and trim it differently. Or am I not understanding you correctly?

Mmh. Does the clip you are using actually have a track attached?
