Any way to downgrade firmware ?

After 2.80 upgrade my virb is useless. It lock up constantly when going over 22 minutes, needing a 2nd file. And the few times it doesn't lock up it will when I stop recording, making the last file 0kb and not saving the gpx.
  • Did u do a factory reset after updating your Virb?

Ensure the device is powered off Press and hold Down Press and immediately release Power Wait for the message "Erase all user data?" Release Down Select Yes The device should now be reset to default...

Factory reset was done, after this it worked one time without error.

I'm not planning to factory reset every day ?

You can download older Virb firmware versions here, as GCD files. http://www.gawisp.com/perry/virb/

I think this would work for installing a previous version:
Download the file for the firmware you want, eg VIRB_270.gcd
Rename this file to GUPDATE.gcd, and copy it to the Garmin folder on the Virb.
Then disconnect the Virb, and switch it on, it should install that firmware.

    Card type in device

    Dear JORISFRST

What type of micro SD card are you using in the device, normally the micro SD card needs to be a class 10 card, so it may be the type and size of card you are using. If you were running out of room on the card this may be what is happening as well.

Have you tried different cards in the device?

Let us know and we can work on this with you.

  • It's not the memory card...

This wasn't a problem before 2.80, but is a huge problem since. I'm using a 64GB class 10 high speed card and if I slide the switch off/on, it locks up, but if I just let it run, it runs fine for me, no lockup at 22 minutes.

I got 2,7 now and that's better. (no lockup when sliding recording to off ) Even managed a 2hr video.
Just had another lock up after 23 mins just starting the 2nd file, but at least it sometimes works.

Card is SanDisk ultra class 10 (uhs1) 64gb

Just bought additional battery and some mounts, ill try and live with the shortcomings and hope they fix all bugs soon.

Yesterday lost a fit file after a 15km walk of 23km...

VIRB was only recording gps data, and I took a few pictures quickly after each other. 3rd picture crashed the camera and is unreadable.
It's a disgrace the FIT file is not being written to the card until you turn off the device. The slightest lockup now looses all your data.
