Download it at http://www.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=6591.

This is a minor release

It adds support for fours Asian languages.
It should improve auto-alignment of tracks to videos.
Some export issues should be resolved.

We are working on more export fixes, and fixes for the Windows 8 issues for 2.2.3.

Power readings not exporting even though it previewed correctly

    Hi Falagar,

Appreciate that you guys are working so hard to update the Virb Edit.

I'm currently using the Virb Elite(v2.8) camera and the Garmin Edge 810 to recording my road CYCLING workout. Using Windows 7 (64 bit).

Two issues I would like to highlight, its concerns the displaying of METRICS. METRICS are important.:

    1)

First and foremost, the Virb Elite produces two output files, one being the track.gox file which is produced only when the camera is recording. But this file does not produces any speed(from the GSC10 speed sensor - it calculates speed from GPS - currently the current firmware has a problem pairing with the GSC10 because of a mismatch in ANT profiles) power, cadence and HR readings. You probably should highlight this to the guys doing the software output for Virb Elite.

Because it does not churn out the power, cadence and HR, outputing the video from the Virb Elite using Virb edit does not give a streamline workflow(This is important for the average Joe user. I am lucky that I can still use the FIT file from my edge 810 to use with the Virb Edit and there are no sync issues with the time codes.

The Virb Elite should give priority to get its speed readings from the GSC10 because if Virb Edit uses the speed readings from GPS, the speed readings output will not be as smooth. The readings with be haphazard.

The other output file that the Virb Elite produces is the fit file, which is produced so long as the camera is switched on even though it is not recording. This Fit file is almost useless in my case because there is no option to pair with a power meter and that if I record my videos into many instances, it will be a nightmare just to sync those different video files with this one big FIT file on the Virb Elite.

    2)

Now I'm using the edge 810 FIT file with the Virb Edit.

It works great. Syncing the FIT file with the video is not a problem. Very Easy. All my speed readings, power, cadence and HR readings are displayed correctly on the PREVIEW.

The odd problem is that when I export it to file, all the readings appear fine EXCEPT the power readings. There were no power readings appearing even though the preview display it correctly. Please look into this.

    Thank you very much!

    Thanks for your input.

I will forward the first item to the firmware guys.

And we've just fixed item #2. The fix will be in the 2.2.3 maintenance release which should be out fairly soon.
