Virb Edit GPS overlay with multiple clips

I have a Virb Elite, 810, HRM, & Powermeter on my bike.
I have a continuous data file from the 810 but multiple video clips on the Virb. For each video clip I independently replace and synchronize the Virb GPS data with the same (entire) 810 data recording. Unfortunately, when I then play the video the GPS data is synced only on the first clip and seems to lose the syncing when it gets to the subsequent clips. This is especially troublesome since the Virb creates a separate video file every 3.67GB.
Is this a known issue or am I doing something wrong?

Did you sync the track for clips 2 & 3? What kind of videos are these? From VIRB Basic? Which video modes?

VIRB Basic, 1080p. I didn't sync the track because I didn't think that was necessary-- is that the correct way to make this work?

For VIRB Basic you will most likely have to sync the GPS data to the video. If you managed to have the time on the Basic to be absolutely exact it might work without syncing, but that's somewhat unlikely.

Any news here in summer 2016???

I just bought the Virb EX and seam to have the exact same problem as desvribed in the beginning of this thread (2013 !!)

I'm using the Garmin Virb XE to shoot small video vlips during my runnings but tracking the entire trip with my Garmin fenix3 HR. When I try to pair those two in Garmin Virb edit it seams extreme difficult (so far impossible for me) to sync the video clips with the gpx data from my fenix3 !!

My expectations was that I could just add the videos and choose the gpx file from my fenix3... and wupti, it would be a perfect movie with perfect synced overlay!? It should be a simple task as both the Virb XE and the fenix3 have the gpx data... and the clock and date !! (Which is the only reason why I bought the Virb XE instead of the gopro).

Anyways... any good suggestions how to sync manually?

    Thanks :)
