Garmin data start point before video start point. How can i sync the start

I loaded my gopro video but my garmin data exists a few mins before the video and iwant the video to start at the same time as the garmin data but cannot get the two start times to line up hence the overlays are way out of sync

I had issues with this even with video from the same camera when I tried to change the start point.

One of my favourite features of VIRB Edit is the ability to output the overlays separate from the video as a png sequence. Then you can line it up yourself in some other better video editing software.
