I'm South Korean and I'm poor at English. If you want to clarify my ambiguous words, please point out it.
I enjoy riding a bike and record videos every riding. And I have used MacBook for uploading them on YouTube with Garmin VIRB Edit.
I recently assembled the desktop by myself because I want more faster encoding.
Here is two computers spec.
1. MacBook Pro 2013 Early
CPU: i7-3740QM quad core 2.7GHz
RAM: 16GB DDR3
GPU: GeForce GT 650M
SSD: Apple
2. Desktop
CPU: Ryzen 2600
RAM: 16GB DDR4
GPU: GeForce GTX 650
SSD: Samsung PM981
I refered to the benchmark of https://www.cpubenchmark.net.
2600's score is 1.6 times higher than i7's. There is a difference of release year, I anticipated such performance.
I used GeForce GTX 650 I owned because I googled that GPU is of no importance.
Today, I ran VIRB Edit on two computers at the same time. The length of video is about 26 minutes.
I was surprised at the result.
MacBook: 22m 33s
Desktop: 22m 51s
Desktop is slower thant Mac!
(CPU, Memory, Disk, Ethernet, GPU from top and left)
I checked task manager but I thought everything is good.
1. Why is my new desktop slower than old Mac? Is the benchmark load of crap?
2. I think CPU is the problem because it was running at about 100% performance. Is that right? Can I expect faster speed by altering for better CPU like Ryzen 3600?
