Gmetrix file names

Hi,

I am using a Garmin Virb to record my commutes (the original one without GPS).

I also have a Fenix 3 watch which I use to record the GPS.

However, when I try and combine the GPS and Video using the Gmetrix tool, the files are named as in the attached photo. i.e.no indication of date.

This makes it very difficult to find the correct file, I usually end up manually finding the .FIT file on the watch, saving it to the Mac, then manually selecting it.

Is there any way to change the filenames to show the date?

Hello,

the files got the "created at" timestamp, which leads you to the right one.
I dont know if your Mac will show this right from the start on a list view. Open up the folder with you file explorer and sort the files by date.
Then you can see which filename was created when.
AFAIK there is not other/better way.

Thanks, yes that's the way I currently do it. would be good if Virb Edit would show that info in the window. Would prevent a few extra clicks.

I don´t think that Garmin will make this approach more easy. Because the most users, who will use this functionality, won´t have a Garmin camera :rolleyes:
