Virb Edit 5.4.3: Exported mp4 file size is greater than original mp4 file size

This issue started for me at 5.4.2. There is a note in the change log that says "Improved export quality for high and max settings on machines with Nvidia cards."
Whatever this change was is most likely causing the issue. The exported video should not be larger than the original video.

Alternatively, it would be nice if there was an option to export the video at original quality, but still perform stabilization, export gmetrix data, etc.

My Setup:

Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050
Using a Garmin Virb 360 camera
  • You need to play with the export quality setting to figure out which setting works for you. In 5.4.2, high and max settings changed, like you said. Those two setting can export with a bitrate much higher than 60mb, which is most likely what your source files are. Try exporting with the setting just below high. I'm guessing it will export somewhere around 40mbr. Would be nice if they would allow us to enter our own export settings.
