I'm getting a Google Maps error when trying to import a G-Metrix log (gpx file). I see the map for a fraction of a second and then it shows the following message (see attached image). Has this happened to anyone else and have you been able to resolve the issue? ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1383490.png
I contacted Garmin Support and they have an open ticket to address this issue (ticket #PSC-29271).
I looked it up and it definitely has to do with the Google Maps API. In June Google changed their policy as to how their interactive maps could be used. I appears that Garmin did not generate their own API key to render the map. That's why it appears for a second then disappears, Google's API does not recognize the key and blocks the map.
All we can do is wait for Garmin to update their software.
