How to make side by side videos in Virb Edit or PIP

Does virb edit allow you to make side by side movies? I would like to compare i.e. 1080/60 vs 4k/30 fps on one screen but it seems I can not do it, also how can I make picture in picture films (I am using the virb camera and another old camera which exports to AVI but the files are not recognized by virb during import - Virb simply doesnt see them).

Jep, that is intended from garmin.
PiP only works with two Garmin cameras. And they must have exactly the same timestamp, which comes from the GPS.

If some of your devices are not Garmin then use another tool such as iMovie to do side-by-side or PIP and then import into VIRB Edit and realign with the fit file.
