This is on Windows 10. I installed v5.2.0 yesterday, and was able to import, add, and edit clips in a video. When I closed the program it asked if now would be a good time to optimize some database, and I agreed. When I launch the program today, I'm not able to play any clips or open any videos for editing without the program crashing. I tried un/reinstalling, no change. I went so far as to clear all the virb edit folders from AppData\Local\Garmin and AppData\Roaming\Garmin, then reinstalled, and still the same problem after re-importing my clips (luckily I'm paranoid about this exact type of thing and didn't delete from the camera SD card). How can I get back up and running?
This problem leads to the question - what kind of testing is done before Garmin releases these updates. At the very least, VIRB edit needs to be tested on bottom of the market machine - both laptop and desktop. The continuing issues that happen whenever new versions of VIRB Edit are released are indicative of very little, if any 'real world' type testing is performed before the updates are released.
PLEASE GARMIN - Do some testing on a variety of 'bottom of the line' machines before inflicting these problems on the user base.
J_Giers Thanks for your feedback, and I'm sorry that you're experiencing issues with Win 5.2 VIRB Edit. Could you please confirm your video card drivers are up to date? If the issue occurs with the latest video card drivers then can you post error text from the crash or send me a screenshot?
