Hi Everyone,

VIRB Edit release 5.2.0 for Win is now available. You can download it from here. The in-app update should be live as well.

Updates:
  • HyperFrame Director Mode - Re-frame video content after filming using smooth camera pans, impressively wide angles, and tiny planets
  • RAW Stitching - Import and stitch 360 videos recorded in RAW mode
  • Create new custom logo gauges by dragging images into the player view
  • Hi Bicio80, sorry you're having issues. Can you try a few troubleshooting steps and answer a few questions?

    1. Can you verify you do not have any AMD or Nvidia drivers installed? (Control Panel > Uninstall Program > look on the list for AMD or Nvidia). Supposedly AMD/Nvidia drivers can overwrite the audio drivers for the 4600. The Intel HD Graphics 4600 is not a video card, it's integrated graphics. From doing a couple quick google searches it looks like the 4600 can misbehave or not work at all if you have AMD/Nvidia Drivers installed.

    2. Try changing your Encoder and Decoder in the VIRB Edit Settings (Menu > Settings > Media > Advanced) and see if that fixes the issue.

    3. Try uninstalling then reinstalling your Intel HD Graphics 4600 drivers or any other audio drivers you may have on your PC (could have been a bad update or install)

    4. If you use speakers (ie: speakers inside of a TV or laptop) can you try using headphones and see if you get sound? If you use headphones try speakers and see if you get sound?

    5. I'm guessing you don't have a dedicated sound card (ie: Sound Blaster Z)?

    6. I'm guessing you get sound from an HDMI cable connected from your monitor to your PC? if so can you try unplugging then plugging it back up? Apparently this has fixed audio issues for people with the Intel HD Graphics 4600 (via google search for HD 4600 hdmi sound issues).

Hi Reyntest! Thanks a lot for your detailed response! In the meantime I've unistalled my 5.1 audio speakers system; then I've tried to re-configure it simply as a stereo speaker and now the problem is magically solved! Don't ask me why with 4.2.3 all is ok, and with latest releases I've got this strange thing... The only thing that matters is that now it works! Hope this could help someone else.
    Thanks and bye!
  • Hi, unable to install 5.2.0.0 on my Windows 10 laptop. Has been downloaded but will not install, just takes me back to the about screen.
Problem sorted. Did a fresh install of 5.2.0 over previous version.
  • (I've only used v 5.2.0)

I can't seem to sync the FIT files (i.e., GPS) from my Edge 25 with my GoPro footage. Is there some simple way to do it?

I can see that I'm not moving, pedaling or going uphill when I'm going downhill.but the file says I am :-(

I hope I don't have to report to an old-fashioned All I can imagine is using a film clapper board :-)

    Thanks!
  • Hello! Issues with stitching 5,7K in Virb Edit 5.2.0. Laptop PC running Windows 8.0, 4 processors at 2,7, 16 GB RAM and dedicated graphics card with 4GB RAM. Very, very slowly, crashing and bugging software from Garmin.
  • For my system, everything works just fine, I'm using files originating from a Virb Elite (max. FHD, 30 fps), so there is not that much stress on CPU et al. The only thing I recently stumbled upon is the strangely formatted percentage value and the always filled progress bar during exporting. As strange as it seems you can decipher the current status reading the first two or three digits, e. g. 561.630.021.143.141% means 56.1 % progress.ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1260331.png
  • Bug report:

When flipping videos 180 and rendering with gmetrix gauges, the video is flipped correctly, but the gauges are exported upside down.

Where is the best place to report bugs?
  • Hey Redwolf, thanks for pointing this out. I took a look at this today and fixed it. Everything should work correctly in our next release. We don't have an official way for users to submit bug reports, but we watch the forums pretty closely, so what you did works fine.
  • Hi I just purchased a Virb 360.

The software appears totally broken, unable to even playback a video. Crashes everytime.

Windows 10, GTX 1080, all drivers and software up to date.
  • How should Garmin help with an issue description like that?

    What does the EventLog say?
    What exactly are you doing?
    - Playback in Edit-mode?
    - Playback in Preview?
  • These things should just work out of the box, when you pay over 1k AUD for a piece of equipment, I really should not have to waste my time signing up to forums to provide feedback for buggy software.

Crashes everytime a video is played or editing is attempted.
