Testing before Release

Considering all the issues that get reported in this forum about the failures to get the various iterations of VIRB Edit to do the job the software has been created to perform that leads me to question how through the pre-release TESTING of the software is and what variety of makes and models of computers are being used to perform the tests.

At one time in my career I wrote an released software that was used in a number of internal business operations of my employer. I had to do the testing on these applications myself - I had to test them with the variety of computers they would be operating with before release. If there were issues once the product was released I received a Royal reaming and a reduction in my 'bonus'.

The problems that are being identified in this forum are not because someone is trying to do something the software wasn't designed to do - it failing on the basics. Importing and Exporting.
  • Well the basics also include placing a imported video in position to be edited. I did a clean load of 5.1.3. Imported 4 video files from my VIRB Elite and they came into VIRB Edit without problem. However, when I move one or all of those files in 'Create Video' to be edited - CRASH, with supposedly a message about the details being fired off to GARMIN, with my e-mail address attached so that data from the crash can be explained to me. I have heard nothing - not surprised.

Basics are basics. VIRB Edit 3.6 worked - everything iteration since has been a crap shoot. Lets get back to basics.
