5.1.1 is moving titles when editing

I've noticed that if I put titles in various places on my video, really more like captions in an old silent movie, and then re-edit the video, the titles get misplaced. Usually they are moved to points much earlier in the video's timeline.

I don't remember this with prior versions.

Obviously, having to delete the moved titles and re-enter them is a bit of a pain.

This should have not been changed since the last versions.
The inserted Text seems to be married to a timestamp from the whole video. If you cut something out, it will be dearranged.
A better solution would be to attach the text to a single clip, not the whole video. Mentioned this a year ago, but it wasn?t heard.

Oh wow, that is a bad feature. I agree, it needs to be fixed in a future release.

Most competing packages have a concept of a "keyframe" which is an invisible frame that goes between two real video frames. You can then attach editing commands to it, and as long as you don't delete the two wrapping frames, it stays between them, no matter what cut/paste you do.

You can then attach labels, captions, etc. to the key frame. They also use them to start and stop transitions, exposure, contrast and color changes, zoom and crop, etc.
