You can download it from here.
The in-application update is live as well.

VIRB Edit maintenance release 5.1.1 includes the following fixes and improvements:
  • Fixed crash when editing when no audio device connected
  • Fixed issue with G-Metrix imports causing frozen gauges
  • Fixed issue where G-Metrix stopped updating during timelapse videos (users should reimport G-Metrix)
  • Fixed issue where full frame multicam only showed the first angle
  • Fixed issue where Chinese characters did not render properly
  • Removed support for Bing maps
  • Added dark theme intro/outro
  • Thanks... look forward to testing.

Edit: The update is working exceptionally well for me, thanks!

On the Mac, the lap counter is not working properly. On each video segment it resets to 1, even though it knows the total laps. This is for a cycling race in a circuit. First 15 minutes it increments, then the next 15 minutes it goes back to 1/25. I just upgraded to 5.1.1 from 4.2.3 and did not have the issue on that version. I know that 5.1.1 has gmetrix fixes, but this seems like a new problem.

    G'day
Running Win10 on a PC there's probably somewhere in between recommended and minimum requirements. I'm still having the same issues as i had with 5.1.0 where as soon as i try to watch a video or go into editing the program just suddenly crashes.
On a laptop so do have audio at all times so not really sure what's causing it. if you guys can point me in a direction for how to get a logfile so i can provide that it would be appreciated.

I am super frustrated. Just bought the Garmin VIRB 360 and installed this software. It keeps crashing the moment I edit a video.
  • In loading Edit 5.1.1 I noticed there is a step that involves interrogating and configuring the Graphics Card - will that insure that if 5.1.1 load successfully that it can be used successfully?

Loaded 5.1.1 to my Desktop. Still get the following when attempting to Export. Obviously with the 'set up' interrogating the Graphic card no 'Red Flags' are raised when mine is interrogated. If the Graphics Card is not 'up to snuff' for VIRB Edit's requirement, the install should be 'backed out' an the user given an error message that means something and is understandable to the 'non-geek'.

  • You need to take a look into the EventLog and search for the error entry. Garmin cannot help you figuring this out, without further information.
    Run: eventvwr
    Navigate to Windows-Protokol -> Application.
There should be a red entry, level error, with the timestamp from your crash in Edit. (Reproduce it, to prevent searching)
The textbox below contains the data, which may refer on your graphics or something else.
