You can uninstall 5.1 and reinstall 4.2.3 or 3.6 if you want to.

If I uninstall and reinstall, doesn't all my geodata disappear?

    @OVERMMI1
I'm assuming you are using a Virb 360 and not some other camera like a Rico Theta or something. Did your videos import successfully from your camera into VirbEdit?

    Everyone else:
Were your crashes / failures connected to projects created in prior versions of VirbEdit or were they new videos you created after upgrading to 5.1? Did the problems you observed occur with 2D or 360 videos? We want to get these issues figured out and fixed as soon as possible. Sorry for the rocky launch, and thank your for your help!

    Hi
I use a Garmin Virb Ultra 30. I do not have any Projects. I just import the films for now. Today i filmed a short film and when to import, i was told there were a new version (5.1.0). Downloaded it and installed. Imported the new film and tried to Watch it. Crash! Tried to see any imported film. Crash!
  • Same crashes here on 5.1.0 :( I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling it again, no luck. I am not able to create new videos or even play existing ones. I tried changing encoder/decoder settings to ffmpeg, but it did not make a difference. I had to downgrade to 4.2.3 and everything works fine now, but I am not pleased with being stuck on an old version.

Running Windows 10 Pro version 10.0.15063 build 15063
    32GB RAM
Intel HD Graphics 630 & Nvidia GeForce GTRX 1060
  • Virb 5.1 crashing

It happens to me too even with videos that I used to work with. Right after I add them to the timeline, the app crashes.

I had to revert to an earlier version. Can't work with this one...

    virb 5.1.2
when i play, open or edit a video it crash the program
had tried to change the audio settings of the pc. from hdmi to onboard mobo audio output.
than i can play the movie but the problem is offcourse that i don;t have any sound

    i have windows 10 64bit.
    32gb ddr4
    nvidia 1080
    6700k cpu

i don't know where crash logs are reported for the program.
reinstalled 5.1.2 stil the same problem.

it is a shame that i stil have the same bug/problem as 2months ago

    edit:
now i have installed 4.1 and that works perfect without any problem. i saw somewhere that the code is changed to get more performance boost by let the gpu calculate the data also.

And it's crushint for me too... any time I try to watch video or do anything with it!
    I have Virb XE
    And win7 64, i7-3770K CPU, 32Gb ram.

    Installed last NVIDIA drivers...

What the hack? I've bought Fenix 3 1,5 years ago - I still cant pickpoint something on my Phone to show it on my watches - whaaaaaat?
Now my new Virb XE's editor does not work. I actually wanted to avoid using Vegas finally...

I really feel myself like complete looser. I wanted just easy soft to enjoy... but I got same experience as when I worked in IT company ))) Buy this time it's not me ho's being paid.

Try to disable the 'Realtek High Definition Audio' device in your device manager and try again if Video playback still crashes Virb edit...

On my MSI Phantom Pro that has been the only way for now to playback video on my 3D/VR machine. Looks like there is a driver/dll conflict between Virb Edit and Realtek. Still trying to find out which exact dll file is causing the crash.

Upside - when creating a video, audio in included with the audio driver disabled.

After playback/video generation you can easily toggle RHDA device on again. Not ideal, but for me it works for now. Any suggestions and other findings are appreciated ;-)

One of our testers was kind enough to bring his PC from home and we managed to uncover and fix a significant audio related bug that I believe explains the problems you and others are experiencing. I am hoping our next release will finally put these annoying audio issues to rest. Til then, thank you for your suggestions!
