Aviation G-metrix virtical speed

I just updated to 5.1, and I'm disappointed to see that there is still no vertical speed for aviation. Everything is scaled in ft/second, which is useless. Aviation uses ft/minute. How hard is it to create a gauge scaled in ft/minute? Is it something I can do myself?
  • I understand HOW to do it, but it doesn't seem like there's any provision for adding a mathematical operation to the gauge file (e.g. VerticalSpeed * 60) for feet per minute.

On the other hand, I can change the precision field as much as I'd like... glad to know I can set it to display +12.4993402309 ft/s. LOL.

I'd like to see feet/min., too.
  • 5.2, and no feet per minute. I've called Garmin, I've emailed, and posted here, and I have yet to even get a response. Does anyone from Garmin actually read this?

Thanks for your feedback and I apologize for the late response to your post. We do our best to address feedback as quickly as we can. The ft/s was added to support skydiving but I understand ft/min is instrumental to aviation operations. We'll look in to resolving this in the coming weeks.

Here's another pilot that would like to see feet/minute. While you're at it, would you please address the failure of Virb Edit to properly compute speeds over 127 Kts? I've been complaining about that for months and months now in another topic and Garmin won't even answer my many posts, let alone address the problem. Now that Garmin no longer supports the Virb basic and Virb Elite, I may be forced to switch to GoPro. I can't even buy a low-profile cradle for my Virb Elite. I love my cameras, but the lack of product support is becoming very annoying.

Thank you sir! Looking forward to it!

I'm waiting for this simple resource (feet per minute on vertical speed) by a couple of years but until now nothing from Garmin. I'ts so disapointing. I hope it can be fixed so soon! Best regards.

We made changes to support vertical speed in ft/min, this should be in our next release which is planned in a couple of weeks time. Thanks for your patience.
