Virbedit help my worldtrip video library is missing

Hi guys, just a small preview of my problem:
I'm a backpacker travelling around the world for 11months with my girlfriend, I bought a VIRBXE before leaving, this is the most reliable product I ever had, always working well (hiking, driving, diving, riding, etc...) so many way to use it and I did it. BUT now everything I can do with my records (300 gigaoctet) is nothing !!! because of VIRBEDIT last update 4.2.3 (windows 10), all my file library is missing... The software crashed few weeks ago and no way to fix it !!!
I tried manually to relocate every single file but the software don't find anything even if I select the file on my own... strange and upseting.
Consequently, I've lost all my videos project already done(14) and also some of those still in progress, 8 months of records from north america to australia... No need to say than I can't spend my precious time to find a clue and fix it, I'm begging you garmin teams, PLEASE release the next update or a fixing patch or a beta version, I don't care which way but I need to solve this problem quickly and not screwing my trip for my last 3 months in Asia.

Cheers,
Brice

Yes that's really worrying. have you tried searching your hard drive for the underlying files? even if they don't show in virb edit I would guess that they would not have actually been deleted from your hard drive unless you deleted them another way.

assuming you are in windows ( i think they all work the same way) , click start and type "mp4" in the search field that shows up right above the start button and hit enter. it should come up with all of the video files (not just virb) files on your pc. if you don't find them here, have you tried the delete bin?

I hope you find your files. best of luck.

Thank you for the reply, I already did it, in fact this is not my original files which disappeared but only the "optimized file" generated by virbedit during the export process from the camera.
It seems than optimized files link between original video and "optimized file" in every video project have disappeared without any explanations... Werd but really annoying for everyone need to make video quickly and don't wait the end of the trip.

The problem seems to be inner the software, even when I choose manually every video to reintegrate them in the project video, it can't reach them... This problem seems having started since the virbedit HD 720 optimization has been settled up, maybe garmin virbedit developer can fix the problem for the next version, I hope so. If anyone has this problem, let me know and we could warn garmin about this.
