VIRB Edit 4.2.3 video preview problem

A few days ago I bouht an VIRB XE.
Downloaded VIRB Edit to start some tests.

My equipment:
HP EliteBook.
Intel Core i5-4300U 1.90GHz 2.50 GHz.
8GB memory.
64 bit Windows 7 Enterprise.

VERY frustrating when VIRB Edit did not show any preview of the videos. Nothing wrong with the camera. Video files works fine in Explorer and other video programs. Export Video works OK.
Tried a lot of things. Called Garmin Support. They had no idea, just talk.

And now late in the evening IT WORKS! I can edit my movie clips.
Right now I'm exporting my first real test.
I think I know what the problem was ....

    Hi rolex42,

Sorry to hear you're having issues with VIRB Edit.

    The Bad News:
The problem you're having is your Integrated Graphics in the laptop. Though the CPU and RAM are excellent in your laptop VIRB Edit places alot of demand on the Video Card and it looks like your laptop barely meets the minimum System Requirements.

The Minimum system requirements is an Intel HD 4000 (when plugged into external power), please keep in mind this is the "Minimum" requirements and not the "Recommended". I did a quick google search and it looks like your HP comes with an Intel HD 4400. Since you have the HD 4400 I'd suggest not to use VIRB Edit unless you're plugged into external power. Using VIRB Edit when not connected to power may explain why you're not seeing video previews (your HD 4400 doesn't have enough power).

    The Good News:
If you go into your VIRB Edit Settings (Menu > Settings) and change the "Video Decoder" to "DXVA" you may see a significant improvement in performance. "DXVA" was added to increase the performance for users using Integrated Graphics laptops/ultra books.

Please View this thread explaining "DXVA":
