VIRB EDIT 4.1.1 has stopped working

Hello,

After update to 4.1.1 version I cannot edit my videos because periodically appears window with a issue "VIRB Edit has stopped working". Tried to change database folder or delete it, as well tried to reinstall vc.redist.x86.exe and vc.redist.x64.exe manually, but nothing helped me. Error appears every few minutes after using of program and doesn't matter what I am trying to do. Also tried to delete everything from category C:\Users\Jurij\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\VIRB Edit\Database. But problem remains. Previous VIRB edit version worked stable.

Computer hardware:
I7-3630QM 2.4GHZ
12GB RAM
64-bit operating system
Radeon HD 7670M 2GB
Directx 12

Thank you for your help!

Best Regards,

Getting the same message when I attempt to Export a 40+ minute video that was created using VIRB Edit.

I cannot reach video exporting, because program crashes every 3 minutes and it does not depend on what I'm doing in program. My video length is only 18 minutes. Tried to reinstall program about 5 times, but nothing changed.

I had been using the prior version of VIRB Edit without problems.

A number of users were experiencing similar problems, as discussed in https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?360219-VIRB-Edit-4-1-0-is-available/page3
In short, if you use an AMD video card, they have recently begun shipping software called "Plays.tv" with their drivers by default (though you can opt out if you are paying attention during the install process). This program appears to be faulty and interferes with VirbEdit's graphics related operations, causing frequent crashes. Stopping this program, or uninstalling it all together, seems to resolve this issue for many people. In our next version we will detect if this application is running and warn you about it.

Additionally, there is a bug in the video playback code, introduced in 4.1 that can also cause this behavior for some videos. I recently fixed this bug and you will receive the fix in our next release.

Thank you for your reply and help. Yeah, yesterday I made a clean reinstall of windows and problem disappeared. Because I didn't get "plays.tv" yet. So right now everything works smoother, but there aren't so big choice of overlays as it was in 3.6 version. Can I download it or somehow manually add? Because there were a bigger choice with more options.

    Thank you in advance.

Other users who experience the missing gauges problem found this work around:
Just go to the settings, activate "Display only gauges with g-metrix" or something similar. Leave the setup and deactivate it again. Then all gages will be back again.

Another thing to know is that we started filtering out gauges that display data that is not available in your video. e.g. if you don't have any heart rate data, none of the heart rate gauges show up. That may also explain the reduced gauge availability. If you don't want this filtering behavior, there is a setting on the settings page that allows you to show all available gauges regardless of the data present in your video.

    Hope this helps!

I have a Dell desktop I purchased in 2014 with W8.1 and upgraded it to W10 when it became available. I have no idea what video card was installed from the factory. VIRB Edit 3.6 works satisfactorially, Edit 4.1.1 works for editing and crashes when attempting to export the results. I have uninstalled 4.1.1 and reinstalled 3.6. I'll try 4.2 or 4.3 - MAYBE.
