Imprt ECG trace into VIRB Edit

I have a portable ECG (electrocardiogram) unit that outputs a file consisting of the ECG trace - the unit can record up to 32 hours so I have coverage for most any hiking or biking I want to do. I'd like to import this trace into VIRB Edit. To generalize this, how can I import and display any time series data as a strip chart - I suspect there is something like this out there. I should be able to georeference the data so I suspect a GPX file is the way to go but would a .fit file work? Something like the heart rate time series display gadget might work but I'd like a moving strip chart that runs across the entire bottom of the display.

BTW, I'm very new at this VIRB stuff and after seeing what the VIRB line can do GoPro is dead to me.

You can import and link your video footage with TCX, FIT or GPX files.

Select Create a Video
Drag a video from the gallery panel into the timeline panel
Click on the G-Metrix button on the left sidebar
Click on the Import G-Metrix button on the top left corner.
Browse to your ECG file.
VIRB Edit will list the data fields that your file contains. From there you can select the ones you want to use.

On the bottom of the metrics list, there's a button to sync your video and metrics files. Since your ECG file contains location information, you can drag the point on the map that matches the beginning of your video.

Now that they are sync, select the Overlays button on the sidebar.
If any gauge was automatically added to your video, you can clear them by going to the Templates tab and selecting None.
I think you'll like the representation of hear rate data in the Gauges tab. You can filter by metric and size. Drag your preferred graph to the preview panel and position it to your liking.
