You can download it at http://www8.garmin.com/support/downl...ls.jsp?id=6591, the in-application update will go live shortly as well.

This is a major release paired with the announcement of the VIRB Ultra 30.

Updates:
  • Allow updating cameras from within the application (without invoking WebUpdater)
  • Auto-create videos based on detected highlights
  • Optimize videos on import to allow for more performant editing
  • VIRB Ultra 30 support:
    • UHD video playback, editing, and export
    • Favorite clips
    • Manual highlights
    • Import camera-generated optimized videos

  • Multi-cam improvements:
    • Picture-in-picture
    • Video mirroring (for reverse cam)
    • Faster, simpler, and more reliable detection

  • Added built-in music tracks to add to videos
  • Added ability to set a point for relative elevation:
    • Elevation shows 0 at that point
    • Can force positive-only numbers

  • Automatically select default template based on available G-Metrix
  • Added optional Garmin-branded videos for export
  • Had no problems with previous iteration of VIRB Edit. Iteration 4.1.1 will not allow me to Export an edited video.

How do I return to the previous iteration?

I have put together a video of about 40 minutes duration. When I try to export it VIRB Edit crashes and the program gets closed.

    ????

    1. Do you have PlaysTV installed? AMD Graphics Card Drivers install it without you knowing. If you have it uninstalling it should fix the export crash.

    2. Have you tried changing your Video Decoder and Encoder in Settings? Try changing them and exporting again if #1 didn't fix your issue.

    I uninstalled 4.1.1 and reinstalled 3.6 - works fine.
  • inverted order of clips in the time line

When I add multiple clips at once to the time line, always the latest clip is added first and then the older ones follow. The order of the clips is always reversed. And it doesn't matter, in which order I've selected the clips.

This is quiet annoying, when trying to add 40 clips or more, because I have to add them one after the other. But when the time line is full and needs to be scrolled, it's not possible to add a clip to the end of the time line, it's inserted just somewhere in the middle. This is another already mentioned bug.
  • Garmin Team: just some info

try to export video, freezes at 99% doesn't matter if its a auto create video or if i make one of my own. also doesn't work if i try to upload to you tube. don't have playtv on my laptop have uninstalled and reinstalled no change, virb was working previously before update. all videos are made with Virb elite. not using any Gmatrix info. just a plain video with about 9 transitions.

gonna see if i can find my old install and go back to that

Google is your friend. Uninstall 4.1.1 and download and install 3.6.

    Only bugs

    1. When I add multiple clips at once to the time line, always the latest clip is added first and then the older ones follow. The order of the clips is always reversed
    2. Can't stop the preview (or better it stops after 10 or 15 seconds)

    Revert to 3.6.
VE is not tested, every new version gave me only problems.
