I like the PinP function alot, however, when I import directly from the cameras, somehow the speed is limited to 10MB/s, I think this is a bottleneck from the cameras (I have two Virb XE), so I usually opt to remove the SD card and plug it in to my USB3 card reader and then I get over 40MB/s, 4 times faster importing over 100Gb of video per camera, it is ALOT faster :)
However, when I use the SD card reader to import, the Virb XE does not detect the dual camera movie and the PinP options are not there ... it is frustrating.

Would it be possible to allow this feature anyway if the import is not done directly from the camera itself?
  • I guess it only works with the remote-feature? A Friend of mine has bought a Virb X and we borrow them each other. Sometimes we are riding together, where the remoting/multi cam feature is not making any sense (to much distance). But it would be nice to combine that recordings also.

Apparently, it does work without being daisy chained. As you say, it could be that the distance between them is too long.

No, multi-cam also works without using the remote-feature. You just have to make sure all the VIRB Camera's you want to include in the multi-cam recording have a solid GPS lock (GPS icon on the camera is solid and not blinking) and the timezones match in each camera's settings then start recording with all cameras at the same time.

    nearly all overlay-templates are gone

After updating Virb edit to v.4.1 (german language Version) nearly everything seems to work well. But all overlays with power, cadence, heart rate are gone.
The only two overlay templates available are two (quite boring) overlays named classic and Standard.

Does anyone know how to fix that?
  • Yes that seems to be an upgrade bug or something.
Got to the setup, activate "Show Gagues/Overlays with data only" (or how ever that´s called). Leave the Setup, return and deactivate the option again.
I restarted Edit afterwards and than all overlays and gauges have been back again :)

I installed 4.1.1. Keeps on crashing all the time. Can't import or preview a single video fully, before it crashes.
Using Windows 10. Anyone else seeing this? I haven't inspected any logs or so yet.

Upgrade from 4.1 to 4.1.1 broke some G-metrix data

After the minor update, several G-metrix gauges do not work properly.
The video + gps data were previous imported from a Virb Elite.

    1. the track dot does not appear
    2. G-force data does not appear to update or track correctly (instead of the G-force updating as per the movement displayed, it is stuck on say, 0.3G, and slowly changes, like it has been overly smoothed).

This was noticed when I was working with videos imported in 4.1.

This also applies to videos previously imported, and those created in the gallery, in previous versions of Virb Edit. These videos now play in 4.1.1 with the anomalies aforementioned.

Yes, me too. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing. Nothing helps. The clips run for about 2 minutes before crashing.
