Blank ("transparent") export

Hello, is there any way to export the gauges ONLY over a "transparent" video? That would be very useful, you could adjust time shifts and switch gauges on and off in a much more efficient way in video editing software (e.g. Premiere Pro). And maybe VIRB would be quite fast at exporting the gauges only, since now it's painfully slow at doing his job over a normal video.
Thanks for any help or consideration, if that is not possible at the moment I hope you'll think about adding it to a future release.

If you go to "Menu" -> "Settings", at the bottom, there is a checkbox for "Export transparent PNG sequence for overlays."

This will dump a sequential list of .PNG files corresponding to each frame in the output video. The files will contain the gauges, with the rest of the area transparent. I believe Premiere handle sequential files like that and splice them into a video.
  • I had previously asked about this. From memory it was on their list to do, but nowhere near the top.

Another work around is to create a gauge with solid colour (eg pink) and put that over the video (ie the gauge fills the whole frame). Then put your standard gauges over the top and export that. In your other editing program you can use the solid fill as a chroma key to make it transparent. Then you just put the original video underneath. For me the gauges didn't look that good once the transparency was set, but I didn't spend much time looking at

    Cheers,
