Lap Count

Desiring to use the Lap Count overlay. I notice when using it it starts at 1 the START and then increments from that point; so when you COMPLETE your 1st lap - the counter increments to two.

That is like being born and being aged ONE on the day of your birth, when one doesn't become 1 year old until one has completed one year of life.

The Lap Counter should start at 0 ZERO and at the COMPLETION of the lap increment to 1.

In my form of competition there is a Pace Lap that precedes the start of competition, ideally in this situation the Lap Counter would start at -1 at the start of the Pace Lap, increment to 0 at the end of the Pace Lap which is the Start of the competition lap and increment to 1 at the completion of the 1st competition lap.

Interesting. I guess you could see it both ways. Maybe we also named it poorly, it's really 'current lap' not 'lap count'.

Anyone else feel strongly about this?

Could counters be programmed and identified as starting their counts at -1, zero and 1. User could select the count that fits their personal application.

In my competitions, there are Practice & Qualifying sessions, where I would like to start the count at ZERO when I enter the track and increment as the laps go on. There are Races with a Pace Lap where I would like to start the count at -1 when I enter the track, the completion of the Pace Lap would increment to ZERO for the START and then increment in concert with the laps that are counting for the event.

    Nope :)
I´ve never started in a Zero-Lap. Always in the first. Like Formula One & MotoGP.
And when I am born, I´m in the first year of one´s life, also. Even if I am less then one year old.

So from my perspective, don´t touch it

And since results identify 'completed' laps, when you get crashed in turn 1 after the green flag, your results sheet gives you credit for ZERO laps completed. No one wins a competition by leading at the start of the last lap, only at the conclusion of the last lap is the winner declared.
