Hello,

Love virb edit. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_uG2ZOy0im2S9FllsaDyTA. But i miss a good track overlay!. The one's you can choose are to little and less information. Bigger and if possible a google maps kind of overlay would be great!!.

I hope the developers read this .

We've definitely gotten that request once or twice. ;)

Definitely want to do it, but probably won't happen very soon unfortunately.

    Hi Almer,

trackline size can be modified in VIRBedit easily. In the Overlays menu search meters, only tracks, select one of the tracks and right click "kloon en wijzig" (Dutch), give the new meter name and continue. This opens gauge builder, I prefer to work in the "geavanceerd bewerken" text editor mode, there yo can easily modify size of your trackline to get more detailed info.

Overlay of maps is a different story, has to do with map rights, probably the reason why this is not standaard in the VIRB edit software.

You can do this by building your own custom gauges. See for hints this thread.

If you want help in Dutch you migt send me a private message.

    Thanks,

Checked the gauge builder. That's not easy!!. Can someone do the trick?, Blow up the track line 2 or 3 times???. And post here to import in Virb....

    Thanks a million!.

I recorded a short movie of three laps around closed track:

    www.youtube.com/watch
(Well, yes... OBD2 data is not collected on this car, but I reported it and believe that Garmin support/dev team is working on it. :))

Why position marker stopped on finish line after the first (or second) lap?
How to move start/finish line? It coincide with place where recording started, but proper start line is somewhere else.

    Regards,
    Pawel
  • You can somehow move the Finishline, by cutting the video.
    BUT:
Then the time for the first Lap will be going on until the initial location of the finish line. During the next lap, it´s totaly screwed up ;)
It took me several hours to make it right. I´ve mentioned that to Falagar before. He was "on it" :) And I´m sure he is, if the time allows!

Just create your Video in complete, and cut the beginning/end afterwards. That made the deal for me:

I assume something is off with the lap detection.

To set the start/finish line you need to set the activity start time. You can do that from the G-Metrix tab. That might also fix the track marker stopping issue.

Once you set the proper activity start time you can also display lap times, best lap, etc.

If you can't get it to work I'll be happy to take a look at what might be going on if you're willing to share the original MP4 and .FIT file.
  • If I change the startingpoint, the whole Map changes. A piece is cut out and the cursor will stay there.
Off course I want to set the startingpoint to the Start/Finishline (which I cannot modify).
The time, then seems right. But slower then in my video above oO

I´ll push the raw video & gmetrix onto my cloud and send you the link :)
  • Map changes when editing activity start time

    Hi,

I am also trying to move the start finish line into the correct place on my videos. If I move the activity start time the track map layout constantly changes depending on where I am in the video. It cuts most of the track out most of the time or has overlaps / not recognising a lap. Can any one help?

    Thanks,

Zoom in on the track tracing that displays - so that you KNOW which 'line' is your starting point. When you Zoom in close enough you can see each individual line that you covered.

    Hi, thanks for the reply.

Might be I am in the wrong section but I get issues like below: Track is a square. Its the same even is I zoom. Depending on the start activity location the track changes dramatically:
