No video, just sound in Virb Edit

Hi. I try to create a movie but I only see a black screen. The clips comes from a brand new Virb XE.

I'm running the latest version of Edit. The import works just fine. I see all the clips with their thumbnails. If i right-click and choose "show in explorer"(Swedish version), the clip shows just fine also with sound. But if i try to watch the clip in Virb Edit the window is just black. The sound is there and the timeline shows correct but the window is black. Same problem when I try to make a movie. I cant see anything but I can put G-metrix data overlay and when i export the video, I can see the video with G-metrix and sound. Very hard to cut the movie!

I've tried 2 different computers. Both running Windows 10. I suppose there is something missing like a codec or so but I can't get it working. I've tried to install new codecs for Mp4 format without luck.

Please help!

This sounds like a graphics card driver issue. Make sure you update your driver (from AMD, Intel or nvidia - don't rely on Windows to offer your the latest one).

The computer is a DELL Vostro 470. All drivers are updated from their support site using the servicetag(Service Tag-number: 7SR4F5J). The driver is "Intel HD Graphics". I've also tried to change to a windows driver but then the Virb Edit complaints. I suppose the graphics are inbuilt on the the motherboard. I have one HDMI and one VGA connection.

In the past, people within Garmin have found that updating drivers from Dell will not give you anything close to updated drivers. Dell has a certain version they officially support and won't give you anything newer than that. For many computers I've seen, that version was over 5 years old. Check the date on your graphics drivers. If the date is not from this year, go directly to Intel's driver site and download from them and you might find that VirbEdit starts working.

The DELL Vostro 470 might also just be a tad low on system specs. The Intel HD Graphics 2500 it has is less than the Intel HD Graphics 4000 VIRB Edit states in its minimum requirements.

I've got the same problem after upgrading VIRB Edit. I've been using v2.9.2 for a long time because I didn't like the early 3.x releases. The other day VIRB edit offered me an update to v4, which I foolishly accepted. Haven't spent ages updating my library, now when I import from my Virb Elite I get no sound.
