VIRB Edit 3.5.2 is available at http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=6591.

This is a bug fix release. It fixes a number of issues that sneaked into 3.5.0. We've also made a few changes that should make export more reliable and hopefully faster.

  • Fixed export error due to audio mixer issue.
  • Fixed an issue with creating thumbnails for timeline which used to result in a crash.
  • Fixed poor audio quality with certain clips using ffmpeg.
  • Increased memory limit past 1.3GB, this should make VIRB Edit more stable.
  • Improved export speed (VIRB Edit will use more processor cores).

    Thanks for reporting, guys.

Unfortunately we still have some sound issues when putting in a sound-track or when using transitions. We are working on a fix.

A potential work-around is switching your encoder to MediaFoundation. The sound issues only appear with ffmpeg.

Any news on the fix? This is a problem as I updated without knowing this and now I'm stuck with MediaFoundation for encoding to get around it, which is producing lower quality output and very large files compared to ffmpeg (twice the size).

Is there any way to roll back to 3.5.0 ? I don't have the installer and all the links go to 3.5.2

Edit: Although it seems it only affects preview. On export it seems okay.
  • Any chances for cuda support in next realse? :)
