VIRB Edit 3.5.2 is available at http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=6591.

This is a bug fix release. It fixes a number of issues that sneaked into 3.5.0. We've also made a few changes that should make export more reliable and hopefully faster.

  • Fixed export error due to audio mixer issue.
  • Fixed an issue with creating thumbnails for timeline which used to result in a crash.
  • Fixed poor audio quality with certain clips using ffmpeg.
  • Increased memory limit past 1.3GB, this should make VIRB Edit more stable.
  • Improved export speed (VIRB Edit will use more processor cores).

    Good news

    Thank you!
    Virb Edit is now finally usable. The sound is no longer unbearably distorted.

    One day I'm going to check the forums and the change log will have the words "Intel Quick Sync", today is not that day.
  • Virb Edit update causes software failure

    I downloaded the update when prompted on my 64 bit windows 7 laptop and now the program will not run. it starts to open itself, a small windows dialogue box opens for a second then all processes associated with Garmin Virb Edit close themselves.

    After update from 3.5.0, when exporting a movie, progress bar shows increasing value of millions of percents - up to the "10,000,000%".

    We still are wanting to make this happen, but I wouldn't expect it to happen very soon.

    I am very sorry to hear this.

    Did you try to un-install and re-install?

    Are you getting a glimpse at what the dialog says?

    That's certainly odd and it doesn't seem to happen for me. Is this for every movie you export or only for certain ones?
  • 3.5.2 has added crackle to the soundtrack

    The update direct from the App failed reporting a corrupt package (or similar) so I uninstalled Virb Edit and downloaded from the Interweb

    All seemed OK until I opened an edit I was working on. There is now a constant crackle on the playback

    Oh joy.

    I'll have a fiddle

    It does not depend on movie, it's length, nor export settings.
    My Windows 10 has a PL locale and I recently switched Virb Edit to EN language. Maybe that is the case? I will check it today.

    After removing user's language node from config xml:
    <setting name="UserLanguage" serializeAs="String">
    <value>en</value>
    </setting>

    progress bar label formatting returned to its proper shape.
