For a week now i have tryed to export my video.
Diffrent locations diffrens qualety, i tryed it all. reinstall program.........
Problem 52%-64% then its failing.
windows 7 virb edit 3.4.0. 19min video from grossglockner 2015
im going crazy i hate computers.
sorry my english is not so good.
Ok...made a little progress with this......
I uninstalled VIRB Edit 3.4 and restarted PC.
Re installed VIRB Edit 3.3.2 and re tried exporting a video....still didn't work came up with the same error so shut the VIRB Edit down.
Don't know why I tried this but rather than launching VIRB Edit from the shortcut that was created on my desktop I launched it from the executable (VirbEdit.exe) in the Garmin>VIRB Edit folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\VIRB Edit) and tried again and the video exported fine.
I've done the upgrade back to 3.4 and launched the program after install, as prompted, tried to export... got the error again straight away.
So....shut VIRB Edit down and launched it from the executable in the GARMIN>VIRB Edit folder and tried the export process again.
Initially on a very small video clip it worked, but when I tried to join together a few clips to make a 10 min video it failed at 82%
Going to re install 3.3.2 back on my PC so at least then I have a way of exporting the video :mad:
I am very sorry about the experience, we are working hard to get this fixed.
The short-cut issue is interesting, that could help us out a lot.
Hi, first time buyer of VIRB XE and user of VIRB Edit. Also encountering this issue and am not to successfully encode my first video with g-metrix. Also stopping at 60% to 90% with error.
Can someone assist to post a link on where to retrieve VIRB Edit 3.3.2 until this 3.4 issue is rectified so I can give this workaround a try.
Thanks.
I got my copy of 3.3.2 from
http://garmin-virb-edit.software.informer.com/download/
Hope this helps :D
Thanks! This helped me a lot!

I uninstalled virb edit 3.4.0 and did a reboot. After that, I installed version 3.3.2 and started it.
All my projects were still there. So I tried to export the exact same projects which failed in 3.4.0 without changing a thing and they exportet without an error!
I've not tried all of my projects and all export settings yet, but it seems that the export problem only exists in version 3.4.0.
(I think it has something to do with the new ffmpeg and media foundation interface. the only change from 3.3.2 to 3.4.0 where you hit the native code)
So I'm happy with that for now. It would be nice if the bug is getting fixed in the next version.
Thanks for the link MarkFrow!
In my experience, this is some kind of pointer error in native code. Maybe you use native libraries and the .net GC deletes your pointer after a while. This would explain the error and the fact, that the error happens after a while during export and that it does not fail with short files.
