Virb Edit Error

Just bought a Virb XE and done a couple of short videos, and everything worked fine. Updated to the new version of the software and everytime I try to export the video it goes to 75% and then comes up with an error "There was an error exporting the video" and stops. I've tried adjusting the output quality to make a smaller file but that didn't work. The error message isn't very helpful to what is going wrong....any one got any ideas?? Thanks in advance

Have you tried changing the Encoder?

Recorded a 37 min long video with the Virb XE at 1080p 60fsec. When I try and export I leave the settings as they are so exporting at 1080p 60fsec at medium quality. I have the encoder and decoder set to ffmpeg. There is no music or transitions just the sound that was recorded whilst cycling, I have put some overlays on the video.
I have tried to export at different quality and different frame rates but the error still appears, unfortunately I don't have the clips anymore as I have deleted them.
When the error appears the only option is to click ok and it returns you to the export screen, there is no option to create or send an error report, I do have a screen print of the error but for whatever reason it won't post on here

Go to Menu > About > 'Copy ID to Clipboard', and post the ID here (Ctrl-V). A personal forum message to me works as well. Then we should be able to look up your logs.

I am very sorry about the trouble.

  • good afternoon, I have the same problem. It is the new update of Virb Edit in Windows 10
  • Virb Edit Error

Ok...made a little progress with this......

I uninstalled VIRB Edit 3.4 and restarted PC.

Re installed VIRB Edit 3.3.2 and re tried exporting a video....still didn't work came up with the same error so shut the VIRB Edit down.

Don't know why I tried this but rather than launching VIRB Edit from the shortcut that was created on my desktop I launched it from the executable (VirbEdit.exe) in the Garmin>VIRB Edit folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\VIRB Edit) and tried again and the video exported fine.

I've done the upgrade back to 3.4 and launched the program after install, as prompted, tried to export... got the error again straight away.

So....shut VIRB Edit down and launched it from the executable in the GARMIN>VIRB Edit folder and tried the export process again.

Initially on a very small video clip it worked, but when I tried to join together a few clips to make a 10 min video it failed at 82%

Going to re install 3.3.2 back on my PC so at least then I have a way of exporting the video :mad:
  • Hi, I went back to install Virb Edit 3.4, I have restarted the pc and I already works well. I exported two videos: one of 15 min and another 45 min, and have been successfully exported. Excume me my bad english....
