VIRB Edit 3.3.2 - GPS Overlay with Multiple Clips

I am a new VIRB user and tested it today for the first time. My setup is Garmin VIRB Basic, Garmin Edge 810 and Garmin Cadence sensor.
The recording was split into two files. After importing the G-Metrix Log from the Edge 810 it only shows the GPS overlay data for the first clip. The data is blank for the second clip.
I am using Garmin Edit v.3.3.2. Please advise if this is because of user error, normal or a bug. I'm hoping that I don't have to do G-Metrix Sync for all clips if its normal behaviour.

Many thanks!

Virb clips are split into 20 something minute segments (Virb X/XE slightly shorter), the 810 fit file (G Metrix) will be one continuous track, as the Virb Basic has no GPS clock the data will have to be aligned manually.
If the two clips have no break between then just align the first and add the second on the end.

You'll have to add the G-Metrix to the second clip as well (and align if needed).
  • And If I have 20 or more clip for the same GPS/.FIT file? Does I have to repeat this procedure 20 or more times?
Please consider some new feature in the app to handle this case, thanks.

It is indeed very time consuming todo this for multiple clips.
Assuming a fixed delta between virb camera clock and the gpx timing you might shift the gpx file using gpsbabel.
This way you have to align only once, but still you have to import the g-metrix for each clip.

Thank you but I agree its very time consuming when you have like 20 clips. Surely it can't be difficult to implement in VIRB Edit to do it itself automatically.
Is this something Garmin would consider in future versions?

    Many thanks.

We are certainly considering it and will hopefully be able to offer a solution in a future version. But I cannot make any promises.

Thanks FALAGAR. Its nice to see a reply by an actual app developer on the forum. I hope to see a solution in a future version.
