I've recently bought a second Virb XE and am experimenting in 3D video (using side by side method, not anaglyph). At the moment I import both videos into Premiere Elements and resync them (using the Join wifi mode they don't seem to start recording at the same time), then apply a '3D Left' and '3D Right' preset which transforms each clip to only be half the width of the exported video.
It would be great if Garmin could include an option in Virb Edit to export video as 3D. It already does Multicam so it would just be an extension of that (noting some complications overlays as they'd need to be duplicated). Does anyone know if this is on the development path for VE?
Separately, does anyone know the optimal settings for the XE when recording for 3D? (eg what zoom, spacing, frame rates etc etc)
