Does the VIRB actually connect to anything?

I have got the same message connecting to Facebook, YouTube and Vimeo from VIRB Edit, saying there is an error conecting.
In each of the apps VIRB Edit is shown as connected.
I have disconnected and tried again but with the same result.
Does the VIRB actually connect to anything?

I have to export as a file and then upload manually to get it to work.

You might want to post this is the Virb Edit forum, but yeah, noticed the other day I couldn't connect to Youtube when trying to upload something, had to export the file first.

Is this on Windows? Do you use a proxy server of some sort?

Windows 10. No proxy server.
Premier Pro uploads fine. I only use VIRB Edit when I want data on screen otherwise I use Premier Pro.

Windows 7 for me and no Proxy server
