Ok so I got a new Virb XE and let me start by saying: I love this camera.
Video is only video without Data and this camera rocks.
What I like most about it, is that
a) I can take a photo or burst of photos while recording
b) I can charge the camera while recording
c) comes waterproof out of the box
d) Edge 1000 integration, altho fairly limited
Anyway, what I think it could be improved:
- Virb on iOS:
> When I connect to the camera, I would like to import some (or all) photos to my iPhone/iPad so I can do whatever I want with them. However, I can only import one at the time, one by one, and ontop of that, each photo I slide to I usually get a message "acquiring photo from camera"
>> Sugestion: On the selection screen, add a button to export all selected objects to the Camera Roll
>> Preload photos so we dont get that annoying delay on each photo "acquiring photo.."
- Virb Edit on Windows:
> File size limit on windows 7 .... please please pretty please PLEASE PLEASE fix this!
> When we go to the Media Library, add a option to see the files in LIST form so we can see ALL the filename. The grid view we have cuts the files in half making it extremely hard to understand the correct order of the video segments. We have to "hover" over each one, adding several seconds PER segment until we finally arrive to the correct one, not to mention, having a clear perspective of the filenames to start with would save tons of time.
> 4Gb file size limit. omg .... we'r back to the 90's!!!
> When we click on a video segment and (for example) navigate to the G-Metrix menu, once we click on any other video segment, the menu defaults to EDIT. I am talking about the G-Metrix option but it's the same for any other option really. Suggestion: Leave the menu where it was. All this jumping around is annoying.

> When importing a G-Metrix, it always defaults to "previous imports" instead of the last used option (either Edge 1000 or "On My Computer"). And then, if I double click the FIT file I want to use, nothing happens. I have to go down and click USE THIS LOG (please use DOUBLE CLICK on the file!)
- Virb integration with Edge 1000
> only allow start/stop recording and photos pulling down the menu from the top. The problem is that to pull down that menu we have to touch the screen first to make it available, that's two touches to get there. too much when you going at 40km/h+ on a bicycle and just want to take a photo!
> There is no VIRB fields whatsoever on the Edge.
> would like to add BATTERY status of the Virb to my data screens

- On the Camera itself.
Yesterday I did a 5hrs+ recording of a bike ride and after 3hours of recording the camera lost the links to my sensors (HR cadence and speed, all from Garmin). I tried everything I could to reconnect but the camera always said "no sensors found" and when I selected one specific sensor and selected CONNECT it would come back "no sensor found". Altho at the same time my edge was getting data fine from the same sensors. Only way I could reconnect was to stop the video recording, power cycle the camera and resume recording.
The camera came with alot of mount options, but sadly, there was no bicycle mounting stuff in the box. I got my camera and had to rush order some bike mount. The store did not had any either so they had to order. Lucky the mounts from the old models of Virbs works so the guy in the store borrow me his until mine arrives, however, almost one week with the camera, it still did not arrive..
