Hi,
I have big problems with synchronizing video and gps... I guess it's some problem with timezones, but I don't see an easy way to work around it.
This is the situation:
I have a *.fit file with GPS data. I know the time it started/ended (10:22-12:43). When I import the file to VIRB-Edit I see the time is shifted by one hour, shows: 11:22-13:43. How can I correct this?
The Video-Files have the correct time... "last change" time is the time the recording ended. And I know exactly the time at which the recording starts.
But when I assign the GPS track to the video there is an offset of exactly 2 hours (+ a few seconds, but thats no big deal). No idea why but I guess some timezone problem.
At the beginning of the session I filmed the GPS watch. So I can exactly see the offset. I can synchronize this first video without problem...
BUT: I have a lot of video clips as the camera splits the video and sometimes I paused the recording while the GPS was still running. I have no way to sync all but the first video clip.
Some suggestions how this could be resolved - is it possible now?
- manually view/change timezones and/or time offset for GPS and video for project so automatic sync works when assigning
- manually enter exact start time or end time (end time is easier to get as it's usually the "last changed" time-stamp) of video clips and GPS and use it to sync GPS/video automatically
- manually enter offset for sync of GPS/video, so I can manually copy the offset from first video to all other videos
- when syncing video/gps with slider, show amount of time to make it easier to find the correct point and/or copy it to other clips
- make sync global for one session. So when I sync first video clip all other video clips from that session get the same offset
- add a way to logically link video clips together - often I have several clips because the camera splits video after ~17 Minutes. I would like to link these clips so I only have to sync this to GPS one time
Please help ;)
Thanks,
- Oliver
