After digging around the internet, I found two temporary solutions to convert the FIT files exported from Virb Edit to GPX files. I still hope Garmin can return the GPX Export function to Virb Edit in future updates to avoid these extra steps.
Solution 1:
1. Right click on the clip in the media library and clicking "Get Info > GPS Info > GPS Log: Export" to get the FIT file.
2. Go to http://www.gpsies.com/convert.do
3. Click on "Browse" to upload the FIT file
4. Select "Convert to GPX Track"
5. Click on "Convert". Converted GPX file will be saved in the [user name]/Downloads.
Solution 2:
1. Install Garmin BaseCamp software (free): http://www.garmin.com/en-US/shop/downloads/basecamp
2. Hook up Virb camera to the computer
3. Click on Virb camera in the "device"
4. Select the date of the video capture in "my collection". All GPS tracks captured on that date would be clustered into one file. I am not aware of any ways to edit captured GPS tracks in BaseCamp.
5. Click "File > Export GPX"
Solution 1 is easier but requires internet access. Solution 2 can be done off-line but may require lots of editing after conversion.
