How to switch between two clips started at same time

Has anyone figured out how to use VIRB Edit (Mac) to switch between two videos (one from an Elite and one from non-Elite) that were definitely started at the same moment?

I've used Final Cut, iMovie, and other video editing software, and none of the methods I'm familiar with from those tools seems to do the trick.

Thanks,

Bobby
  • VIRB Edit (3.0 and later!) will automatically group up any videos it detects were recorded at the same time (~4 seconds of each other), and ended recording at the same time, too. This means that all of the videos will need to have a GPS log associated with them, so you would likely have to go and manually assign/align GPS logs to your VIRB Basic footage to get this to work.

After that point, dragging in any of these matched clips into your edit video timeline will ask you if you'd like to edit that clip as a multi-camera clip, to which you should say "Yes". You'll then see a list of angles for that clip in the "Editing" tab while it's selected on the timeline.

This works best if you start/stop recording via the mobile app's remote control functionality, but manually starting/stopping recording could work as well. Naturally, we'll keep an eye on improving the usability of this feature in the future.
  • Thanks for the reply. I'll try assigning a GPS log to a basic camera clip before adding to a movie next time I get a chance (next week; traveling until then).

This is what I did, and it STILL doesn't work.
