fit files and movies linking when on hard drive ?

new to verb edit ..if i save all the files from the verb to a folder on my hard drive .. how can i match the correct fit files with the mp4 files>
do i need to make a folder on the Hard-drive (Called NO_NAME)with a GARMIN folder then an ACTIVITY folder inside that, as well as a DCIM folder to put the mp4 files inside ?
so id have a folder called (NO_NAME) inside there id have 2 folders called Garmin and DCIM, inside the GARMIN id have ACTIVITIES folder containing the FIT files
And the mp4 movies inside the DCIM folder?
would this link both the movies and the movies on importing movies to verb edit from computer?
also is there a way of telling which FIT files go with each movie ?

After you "Create Video" with one of these clips, you can manually assign GPS logs to your clips via the "Add GPS..." button in edit mode, while you have a clip selected. If you pick the correct VIRB Elite GPX file, it should be perfectly aligned by default, but you can manually align it later via the "GPS Sync..." button.

It's definitely much easier to import this data straight from your camera using VIRB Edit! It will automatically pair your video, GPX, and FIT data, align it for you, and fill in the gaps between clips if they were recording during the same VIRB power session.

ty but what I'm attempting to do is take the original mp4 file export it into another video editing program ( premier pro), make some changes i.e. colour , add music/narration, transformation etc, then import the new saved file back to verb edit and apply the gps data and overlays , so i would ned to know which fit/gps files match the original track ..hope this makes sense , rather than keep having to try different fit/gps files
i did export the full linked mp4/overlay video but if i adjust say colour settings in premiere ..it also affected the overlays obvious, this is what I'm trying to avoid

My previous message still applies to what you're trying to do, but you'll have to figure out which GPX/FIT file is paired to which video yourself if you import everything "manually" rather than using VIRB Edit. They're named by timestamp, so it's doable, but I'd agree that it's a pain.

Here's what you can do with clips you edited in other applications if you imported the original clips from your VIRB Elite using VIRB Edit:
1) If you import all of your data using VIRB Edit, you can locate the actual movie files for each clip via the Clip Library's "Show in Finder" context menu option for all of your external editing needs. Things will go a lot more easily for you if you don't change the length of the new file or alter the timing of the video in any way while editing. I do not recommend overwriting this originally imported file.
2) You can also Get Info on the clip via that same context menu to export the GPX/FIT files for that specific clip. All you should have to export for a VIRB Elite is the GPX file.
3) Import your edited version of this clip.
4) Select that clip and "Create Video" with it.
5) While editing that new video, select that clip in the timeline and click "Add GPS..." and pick the GPX file you exported earlier.

Optional steps for copying the alignment info from the original clip:
1) Check your original clip's offset for that GPX file in that same "Get Info" dialog.
2) While editing your new video, select the new clip in the timeline and click "GPS Sync...". Align your data to match that offset. Now its overlay should match the original video's timing.
