Virb Edit movie stuck at 11km/h

Hi guys, hope this is the right forum - I imported 5 clips into Virb Edit. In the second and subsequent clips, the speedometer is stuck at 11km/h which is incorrect.
If I look at the clips individually in the 'clip library' window (pressing the little play icon for each clip) then the speed displays correctly. Once I choose 'create' or 'create movie' the clip immediately reverts back to 11km/h.
The first of the 5 clips is fine - all others are showing the wrong speed.

Version is 2.9.1
OS = MaxOS-X 10.9.5

It's hard to search for this issue and find something as it's not that easy to explain - is there a bug with the software? Not likely to be corrupted GPX files because as I mentioned, I can view the clips outside of a movie from the Import Library and it display correctly in there.

I unfortunately removed the files from the Virb Elite device, so I can't do an uninstall/re-install of the software because I'll lose the originals (I guess?....maybe they are on the OS 'somewhere' and I can re-import it all later after an uninstall???)

Hope you can help.

I took the .FIT file from the Database and imported it into my Garmin Connect account.
The activity was 3hrs long according to the FIT file, but physically was actually only 1h44m activity according to my wife's Garmin Edge 500, so then she confessed that she didn't switch the VIRB off when she got home!
The 11km/h comes from the 43km distance spread over 3hrs or so.

Not sure if the thread can be closed or deleted perhaps?
    - filed under 'lessons learned' maybe :)
  • The speedometer provides an instantaneous speed; it shouldn't be affected by a large "dead zone" in the file like you described. One thing that could be happening is that the "auto-alignment" is automatically putting it in that deadzone. I'd expect that to result in a speed of 0, though, and like you said, it's hard to figure things out without the data in hand.

That said, we're working on making the auto-alignment of non-VIRB FIT or GPX files work better in the future.
  • Hi

I have the same issue on one video.

The speed at the start is 11 mph and the guages (Any speed gauge) shows the speed at 11mph through the whole clip. the next clip off the same ride is fine.

As with the previous post the speed displays fine if you view the clip outside a movie or the edit window.

    Virb edit 2.9.1

I have version 3.20 and my video today is showing 11mph also. This has never happened before.
