VIRB Edit for Mac software version 2.9.1

Changes made from version 2.8.0 to 2.9.1:

  • Added the ability to download new gauges.
  • Added a second accent color to customize gauges.
  • Added support in Gauge Builder for moving gauge components with the mouse.
  • Added the ability to get information about clips.
  • Map now pans to keep marker visible while playing a video.
  • Fixed various bugs.

Download through Virb Edit or by going here.
  • I think you mean "Download through the App Store" :)

Edit: Oh, wait, you may mean that the non-App Store version has a "Check for updates...". That's missing from the App Store version, and that's all I have at the moment, since 2.9.1 was out there yesterday.
  • That's right. I use the standalone version, not the Apple Store version.
  • Wow, there's a lot to like about the new versions! The "capability to export a project as a set of transparent PNG files that only contain the gauges" is pretty cool in theory. And even though only the Windows version advertises it, both versions have it!

Here's a few features which caught my eye:

Here's the "Export transparent..." feature in the Mac version.

In this screen shot, I right clicked the mouse on a file in the clip library:

This is the track info for that same clip in the image above.

Take note that the gps log is actually "boogered" to use the technical term. I took pictures while the video was recording and that flawed the gps track, but the FIT file is accurate, and can be used in the video if necessary.

And this capture shows that you can share from the clip library, without having to create a video first.

  • Having problems with VIRB edit for some reason. It won't open and I can't post the error message on here. It is too long
