VIRB Edit 2.6.0 Released

So the latest Virb Edit for Mac has been released, and if you originally downloaded it through the Mac store, then it'll show up as an update via the OS. I often ignore those update notices but spotted this one and downloaded it.

You can probably also update from within VE.

This is the Clip Transition tab: basic, but it works nicely.

  • Yes please fix this ASAP.

Does anyone happen to have the .dmg file for 2.5.1 in their download folder? I guess I deleted mine, but anyone who can share it (via dropbox?), I'd really appreciate it.

There are a couple of application developers quite active on this forum.
For old versions you could have a look here: http://www.gawisp.com/perry/virb/
  • The GPS data not showing bug is something that we hope will be fixed with our next release.
  • Thank you! I got a Garmin Virb for my birthday last month and was quite disappointed that the software doesn't actually work. The main draw of the Virb is that I can overlay data on my videos and that also the feature that is broken. When can we expect a new software update?
  • Just use the link above and drop back to VIRB Edit 2.5.2. I finally did that yesterday and was able to complete several videos by finally being able to align GPS track with video (videos from a VIRB Elite, and I shouldn't have had to replace the tracks. Oh, well). Tracks align (by hand, of course, not automatically), sensors show...much better than 2.6.0.

Here what I discovered about the aligning problem (hopefully solved in 2.7).
When you look at a track real close, you will see straight lines, joining at (slight) angles.
(these joints show up in MapSource and BaseCamp as dots on the track)
These joints are the points where GPS data is saved.
When you align a track and click OK (Done) it will jump back to the joint it just passed (datapoint).
I have made a video about how I think it can be done (Win7, VE 2.6.2) https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?75263-How-To&p=378295#post378295
First find a well know point in both track and video (same point prefered;)).
Zoom in on the track to see the joint.
Place the red dot just after the joint.
    Adjust your video.
Click Done/OK to exit the align mode.
    Preview your video.
You'll probably be some frames off.
Place the red dot at the same point as it was before you left the align mode (just after the joint, it will jump back again).
Go to align mode, DON'T adjust the track, just move your video the amount of frames you think it is off (arrow buttons).
    Preview again.
If you need to adjust, place the red dot in it's spot.
Go to adjust mode and only adjust the video.

Hi all I have a 2007 mac running OS X 10.7.5 , looking for a link for virb edit to work. It won't recognise above links . Any help would be much appreciated.
  • I am having trouble when I download my virb footage in IMovie. When you create a project it does not let you save the project, only a problem with Virb footage?
