Editing video removes GPS data

Hi I am running the latest Virb editing software on my Mac (2.5.2) I have a long video (29 mins) and I wanted to edit it down to 5 mins. As soon as I split the video using the editor the GPS (telemetry) data to the right (i.e. after) gets "removed" i.e. you play back the video and the speed and elevation etc are all shown before the split, but as soon as the split (edit) is reached all telemetry is blank. If I go to adjust GPS tool, as soon as I move the slider for the position on the map, the telemetry re-appears on the video BUT IF YOU PLAY IT AGAIN, IT DISAPPEARS. its as if the software does have the telemetry but as soon as you click DONE it doesn't save it to the new position.

It seems that any telemetry after any edit position is removed or the edit seems to mark the end of that section with a finish tag. I want to upload the edited video (and telemetry) to a LifeFitness bike but at the first edit position the bike thinks the ride is finished.

I've seen numerous posts about editing issues and GPS/telemetry sync issues but I haven't seen one that talks about loosing the data right after an edit position. Is there any fix to this? I need it for a show we are doing next week!

thanks.

We haven't heard about this kind of bug before. Playback vs. moving the slider to change the movie time shouldn't have any affect on whether the telemetry data displays, so I'm surprised to see this.

Does the same behavior happen if you add the clip to your project twice? What if you then trim them to match the split? Also, does exiting and then re-entering the video affect this in any way?

It's possible that this will still export fine despite the unusual issues in preview.
