VIRB posts activities to Garmin Connect

Hello,
Any time I power on my VIRB Elite, it uploads an "other activity" to my Garmin Connect account.
How do I get this to stop?
It is very annoying b/c I can simply power on my VIRB and have it setting on a desk in the house and it will upload that "other activity" to my Garmin Connect account.
What's the point and how do I get it to stop?
Thanks so much all.

  • The simplest way is to dissociate your VIRB and your GC account. I don't think there's anything else you can do.

    That'll work.
Not sure I really need it "connected" or associated with my GC account anyhow.
Thx- kinda feel silly for not thinking about that myself.

  • I can report that I have Garmin Express installed. My Edge 810, configured to sync to Garmin Connect, and my VIRB is configured not to. I can plug either or both in to my Mac. Express will see them both, but only upload the 810 data to Garmin Connect. It will notify me when there is a firmware update for the VIRB.
As an aside, I have also configured things so that when I plug the VIRB in it starts VIRB edit. I followed the various web pages on how to stop it starting iPhoto via Image Capture, but rather than have it not do anything, I made it start VIRB edit. The one interesting thing, is that occasionally VIRB Edit seems to cause the VIRB to disconnect. I get the message you get if you pull a drive without first unmounting it. I unplug and replug and it's fine. Not a show stopper, but annoying.
