VIRB Remotes

Last week me and a friend went for a MTB ride. Because of me, he now also have an Edge 810 and Virb Elite :)
When we where riding I noticed my Virb randomly stopped recording.
I didn't understand what was going on until my friend asked why his Virb started filming at random. It seemed my Edge 800 controlled both our Virb Elite, as well as his.
Is this a bug or is it supposed to work like this?
Both our cameras had the latest firmware.

    Interesting, I also have a remote and a Elite.
    Maybe the remote is paired to both Elites and both have the setting Remote On.
    If you both have a remote, you might try setting Remote off on one of them and retry pairing the other.
    After that turn off the paired VIRB and pair the other VIRB with the other remote.
    Setup => Remote => On/Off
    I'm interested to know if you can have two Elites both operated by remote, close to eachother and not causing trouble.
    While thinking, It came to me that it also might have been master and slave mode where the master is operated from the remote.
    It might be worth checking that also.
    I like to know what to expect when I'm on holliday with more Elites around :)
  • We have setup ours by ourselved, not anywhere near eachother.
    In the Virb you never pair an ant+ remote, you just turn it on or off.
    But it wols be great to have some clarification what to expect.
